What is agentic commerce?

Consumers delegate a purchase intent to an AI assistant, which discovers products, compares merchants, validates inventory, calculates shipping and initiates an authorized checkout. The merchant's website may never be browsed in the traditional way.

What does an agent need from your store?

Unambiguous product identity, trustworthy availability, computable price with currency and tax context, delivery geography and timing, discoverable policies, and a deterministic path to checkout.

Why structured data is not enough

Structured data solves discovery and identity. Agents also need variant-level availability, commerce logic that is normally hidden inside human flows, and a machine-facing interface with predictable freshness.

How the readiness score works

Seven weighted categories total 100 points: Discovery 15, Product Data 20, Commerce Clarity 15, Policies & Trust 10, Agent Interfaces 20, Transaction Readiness 10, European Readiness 10. It is a diagnostic indicator, not a certification.

What to implement first

Fix product identity and availability, then expose commerce logic (price, tax, shipping, delivery) as data, then publish a machine-facing interface, then validate the transaction path, then monitor for regressions.

What we will not claim

We do not claim legal compliance, official protocol certification, guaranteed placement in any AI platform, or invented revenue uplift percentages.
